FADE IN:
EXT. RURAL ROAD — NIGHT
A two-lane road cuts through dense, black woods. No streetlights. No sound except the low hum of wind through the trees.
A pair of headlights appears in the distance — moving slow. Too slow.
INT. CAR — CONTINUOUS
DIANA (30s, sharp eyes, exhausted) grips the steering wheel. Her knuckles are white. On the passenger seat — a worn envelope, sealed, addressed in a child's handwriting.
She glances at it. Looks away. Glances again.
DIANA
(to herself)
Don't open it. Not yet.
The car slows to a stop at a crossroads. No signs. No markers. Just four directions disappearing into the dark.
Diana stares straight ahead. Then — a sound. Faint. Rhythmic.
A child's voice. Singing.
CHILD'S VOICE (O.S.)
Mrs. Mary Mack, Mack, Mack... all dressed in black, black, black...
Diana's breath catches. She reaches for the envelope.
